The West Shore/Denver area of Lake Norman saw an increase in sales in the past year. With 30 more homes sold in the $500 – $999k range from 2013 – 2014, and 4 more homes sold in the $1m+ range. Why are so many people looking to this area in the East End of Lincoln county to call home? It sits on the west shores of beautiful Lake Norman. The newly completed Highway 16 provides easy access to Charlotte, North Carolina’s largest city, and Charlotte International Airport. Denver is just a couple hours from the Great Smoky Mountains and about five hours away from the coastal beaches.
Spectacular West Shore neighborhoods include, Sailview, Cowans Ford and Governors Island.
Denver also has many amenities; with recent growth in local businesses, restaurants and retail.
This area is served by Lincoln Country Public Schools, along with several private school options.

We’re getting some of the coldest temperatures since last year this week, and you need to be prepared.
Here are a few tips for your home, car, yourself, and pets!
- Let pipes drip to prevent freezing water from causing pipes to burst.
- Make sure pipes are insulated.
- Bring in potted plants.
- Cover outdoor plants with a sheet.
- Close off unused rooms, places towels under doors.
- Make sure tank is full.
- Battery has a strong charge.
- Car is full of antifreeze.
- If traveling carry an emergency kit. Include – blankets, flashlight, water, jumper cables, food.
- Keep cell phone fully charged.
- Bring pets inside.
- Provide warm shelter, food and water.
- Don’t leave your pet in a cold car.
- Wear several layers of clothes.
- Wear a hat (you lose half your body heat from your head.)
- Wear a scarf to protect your face.
- Wear gloves.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Realtors share their take on the market, Reed Jackson, Managing Broker at Ivester Jackson Christie’s International Real Estate says “The market has improved in terms of pricing appreciation in most areas. Higher demand areas have inventories of less than four months in the lower price ranges.”
