Many residential real estate markets across the country and locally are in a  fairly stable state of balance, causing most stories about housing to be  conservative in nature with not much change to report.

As the weather continues to warm up across the country, more sales are expected.

Charlotte Market Report:
Week Ending March 7th

In the Charlotte region, for the week ending March 7:

• New Listings decreased 7.4% to 1,137
• Pending Sales increased 28.6% to 922
• Inventory decreased 18.4% to 12,480

For the month of February:

• Median Sales Price increased 6.1% to $175,000
• List to Close decreased 1.4% to 139
• Percent of Original List Price Received increased 0.9% to 93.5%
• Months Supply of Inventory decreased 26.3% to 4.0


Cold Weather Tips for 2015 Artic Blast!

We’re getting some of the coldest temperatures since last year this week, and you need to be prepared.

Here are a few tips for your home, car, yourself, and pets!

Home:

  • Let pipes drip to prevent freezing water from causing pipes to burst.
  • Make sure pipes are insulated.
  • Bring in potted plants.
  • Cover outdoor plants with a sheet.
  • Close off unused rooms, places towels under doors.

Car:

  • Make sure tank is full.
  • Battery has a strong charge.
  • Car is full of antifreeze.
  • If traveling carry an emergency kit. Include – blankets, flashlight, water, jumper cables, food.
  • Keep cell phone fully charged.

Pets:

  • Bring pets inside.
  • Provide warm shelter, food and water.
  • Don’t leave your pet in a cold car.

Proper Clothing:

  • Wear several layers of clothes.
  • Wear a hat (you lose half your body heat from your head.)
  • Wear a scarf to protect your face.
  • Wear gloves.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
