Clear the Clutter
Buyers are searching for a new home they can see themselves living in, one that is neat, clean and clear of clutter. Remove personalized items such as family photographs, clean out closets and remove items from shelves. Create a blank slate.
Pack & Organize
One way to get rid of extra clutter is to pack and organize. Think about renting a storage unit to store extra furniture, clothes, children’s toys or holiday decor. You never know how long it could take to sell your home, a few days, a month or even a year. Staying organized will help in the process.
Make Repairs & Improvements
Minor repairs and improvements to your home can make a big difference to potential buyers and it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. Freshen up with a new coat and color of paint, focus on the front door and update hardware. Spruce up kitchens or bathrooms with a new faucet or clean grout or new caulking in the shower or bathtub.
The outside of your home makes a first impression. Rake up leaves and debris, mow your lawn and plant new flowers in-ground or in pretty pots. Clean and put outdoor furniture in place to enhance the outside of your home and make it look as appealing as possible.
Clean Windows & Let in Light
Buyers are attracted to homes that are light and bring. Make sure to clean all windows inside and out and all mirrors. Open up blinds and curtains to let in light, replace all light bulbs and make sure when your home is being shown to turn on all lights.
