Tell us your favorite things about being a real estate broker.
My favorite thing is that I get to help dreams become a reality. And also, most of my client’s end up being my friends. Closing day is never a “goodbye” for me. It’s more of a “I can’t wait to have a glass of wine with you on your new front porch.” Buying a home can be daunting and overwhelming at times, but I do everything in my power to make it a fun experience for my clients.
Do you have specific areas of focus?
Luxury sellers/buyers and first time home buyers.
What advice would have for people right now during this down period?
I would say, “This too shall pass.” While I have had my moments of concern and saw a good portion of my clients press the pause button, for now, I remained confident that we will rebound because the US economy was very strong going into this pandemic. It won’t happen overnight, but with rates still really low, and such a shortage of inventory, we are positioned to still experience a robust market. We may even see a major resurgence of home buying activity due to pent up demand once all this passes.
How are you keeping busy with today’s Stay at Home Restrictions?
I have a very active 11-year-old boy. I am NOT a teacher and homeschooling stinks some days…but I almost have to pinch myself when I get to ride bikes with him in the middle of the day. These times are trying and unprecedented, but I remind myself daily of the incredible blessing that is there if we look for it…the blessing to be able to slow down, spend more time with family, and enjoy God’s beautiful creation during these gorgeous Spring days. I’m also making sure I’m staying in touch with former and current clients…just to remind them that with all that is going on, I haven’t forgotten about them…and that I am here if they need me. Even if it’s just to talk and catch up.😊
Are you giving back or helping your community/neighborhood at this time?
I was in the middle of teaching a Bible class after school to some elementary children at Elon, but Covid-19 halted this. I hope to resume serving soon.
