Tell us your favorite things about being a real estate broker.
The best thing about being a broker is helping people. I live and breathe real estate, it’s been my passion since I was in my early 20s. Sometimes you’re helping people buy their first home, helping them get out of a bad situation, or helping them build wealth. To be a part of a client’s biggest investment comes with a lot of responsibility but is extremely rewarding. My clients put a lot of trust in me and I work my hardest to look after their best interest.
Do you have specific areas of focus?
I work all areas of Charlotte but most of my business surrounds Lake Norman.
What advice do you have for people right now during this down period?
We’re in an interesting time with COVID-19 but inventory is still very low, rates are incredibly low, and so far prices have not been affected. I’m telling my Sellers to take this time to get their homes looking their best before we go on the market. I’m making sure my Buyers have their financing in order so they’re ready to make a strong offer when their dream home comes available.
How are you keeping busy with today’s Stay at Home Restrictions?
I have several Buyers at the moment who are Under Contract so we’re going through the inspection process. My job entails quite a bit of research. I make sure to communicate with the towns and counties confirming property setbacks, permits, land information, etc. If the property is a waterfront home there are specific documents needed to ensure the dock and lakefront features convey with the sale. I also look at surrounding properties to ensure my client’s property value isn’t affected by outside factors. There’s a lot of information that must be collected before a Buyer decides to move forward on a purchase. In addition to research, I’m in constant communication with other local Realtors trying to locate potential off-market listings for my clients who have exhausted properties already listed in the MLS.
