Second Home Buying and Migration Drive Major Surge at
Lake Norman
Coming out of lockdowns nationwide, luxury home buyers, restricted from traveling abroad, and seeking residential options which allowed them to both work and play from home, flocked to Lake Norman this summer. The luxury range above $1 million, saw over 230 closings compared to 120 last year during the same period, with Cornelius and Mooresville seeing historic levels of activity in the ultra-luxury range above $2 million. The Lake Norman region currently leads the western North Carolina area in luxury activity, with Ivester Jackson agents transacting several flagship significant sales in the $3 million to $6 million price segment.
