Our Business in 2020
The world quickly and unexpectedly went into lockdown in March due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. While our employees began working from home and showings came to a halt, we quickly adapted by using many of our digital practices that were already in place to continue showing and selling homes. We were one of the first North Carolina firms to go to a virtual agent network many years ago and were well suited to help our clients show, see, and sell homes. Our Regional Real Estate and Coronavirus Updates were sent out and posted frequently to keep everyone informed of the latest news in our area and how we would continue to work with FaceTime tours, drone video, and Dotloop – our cloud-based e-signature program – which allowed “in-process” transactions to proceed.
Marketing Moves Forward
In 2020 Ivester Jackson Marketing continued at full speed, the marketing department published 6 seasonal magazines in both print and digital, ran several Wall Street Journal ads, featured several homes in the Christie’s International Real Estate Luxury Defined Blog, The Ivester Jackson Podcast had 1700 downloads, the team continued with quarterly market snapshots, keeping clients and the public informed, mailed out thousands of postcards, continued to update our featured community video tours and launched 2 new Apps.
Charlotte Quick to Recover
While the Charlotte Real Estate market came to a halt with “stay at home” orders in the spring, in-person showings were not allowed for months. Yet by summer, the market had quickly recovered and Ivester Jackson closed out the year leading the region in estate home sales with 50+ transactions closing over $2 million. Many of our out-of-state clients were looking to leave the hustle and bustle of big cities and small apartments, vying for properties with privacy, land, and amenities like home offices, gyms, and extra room for their children and family members. (we feature these types of listings weekly on social media and our blogs.) “6 Homes with Work From Home Spaces in Charlotte & Lake Norman.”
Christie’s Luxury Specialist Virtual Conference
Nearly 40 of our agents from Charlotte, Lake Norman, and Asheville received their “Christie’s International Real Estate Luxury Specialist” designation at the annual Christie’s conference this year, which took place virtually in November. Known as the Luxury Specialist Conference, this annual event is designed to further affiliated agents’ knowledge in important luxury asset classes of art, jewelry, watches, handbags, and, of course, real estate, to better serve their valued clients.
Christie’s Real Estate Webinar Series
Ivester Jackson agents also stayed up to date with training through the Christie’s New York City brokerage, which hosted a webinar series for agents focusing on trends in luxury industries from real estate to jewelry. Coming in 2021 – we plan to keep our clients updated with a brand new Christie’s client webinar series next year.
Luxury Defined Homes
Each year several of our listings are featured in the incredible Christie’s Real Estate Luxury Defined Blog, which reaches an international audience. An Ivester Jackson Lake Norman listing was recently included in “8 Exceptional Waterfront Properties Around the World.”
Agents Giving Back
Ivester Jackson agents found ways to continue giving back and stay involved in the community during the Pandemic by supporting their favorite charities, churches, and schools.
One of the final virtual events we “attended” from both our Charlotte and Lake Norman offices was an online Christie’s International Real Estate wine tasting virtual event with published author and wine sommelier Kim Akhtar.

The office will be located at 350 Morrison Plantation Parkway, Suite C. The office will feature an onsite Lead Broker and an onsite Marketing Coordinator, as well as workspaces for partnered realtors and conference rooms. “We’ve had great success in areas like The Point and the emerging waterfront along the northern shores of Lake Norman. This new office is the perfect location to better serve both our agents and clients,” said Reed Jackson, Managing Partner.
The new branch office will be managed by Jackie Morgan, industry leader and longtime resident of The Harbour at The Point. The company’s 14 current agents residing in the Mooresville/North Shore area have consistently ranked as the area’s number 1 luxury real estate brokerage by volume, and the new location should provide enhanced convenience for agents and area clients. “Opening the new North Shore office allows us to expand our reach in Mooresville and the surrounding northern Lake Norman communities,” said Jackie Morgan. “I am excited for our agents to have a local office space that enables them to better serve their clients.”
