“Volunteering at Classroom Central has been a heartwarming journey where I’ve witnessed the power of our community coming together.  Every child deserves access to the tools for a brighter future.”

The mission of Classroom Central is simple yet powerful:  to provide free school supplies to teachers and students in our community who are facing challenging circumstances.  By doing so, they strive to ensure that each child has the necessary tools to succeed in their educational journey, regardless of their financial situation.

A staggering 54% of children in the Charlotte and Lake Norman community live below the poverty line and cannot afford basic school supplies.  Classroom Central supports over 156,000 eligible students and their teachers across six school districts, serving more than 200 high-need schools.  This year Classroom Central welcomed 34 newly eligible schools and an astounding 38,000 additional students.  This marks the largest increase in Classroom Central’s 20-year history.

“Our teachers spend on average $1,000 out of pocket on school supplies every year.  Classroom Central bridges the gap offering essential school supplies for free.  I’m deeply touched by the selfless spirit of our teachers.  They show genuine excitement and appreciation for supplies, books, and personal items such as toothbrushes, socks, scarves offered at Classroom Central.”
